Many people think of model cars as toys but that's a huge misconception. If you try to play with a model car you're going to find yourself with a hundred pieces of broken plastic all over the place. Model cars are built to be displayed and appreciated. Building realistic model cars is a true art form that takes patience and dedication. Unhappy with the tires and wheels that were made for Lowrider models, I decided to make my own wire wheels and tires. All of my Lowrider models are fitted with my custom wheels and tires. I also use brass, aluminum and plastic to create many of the realistic details. Like real cars, the paint job is one of the most important parts of model building. I'm a self taught painter and all of my models are painted with House of Colors automotive paint. Getting tips from some of the best painters in the Lowrider community (Walt Prey, Bill Carter, Danny D and Mario from the Candy Factory) has also helped me a lot. Over the years I've won many awards at model car contests including Model Of The Year for my replica of Joe Ray's "Las Vegas" Lincoln. None of us will ever own every car we've ever dreamed of but I can build a replica of one of my favorite Lowriders or build one of my own custom creations and it's the next best thing. The possibilities are endless, if I can dream it, I can build it.
